The short version though, this is the official launch of the Glenrock POM and an open day is being held. The day will be attended by NPWS and Office of Environment and Heritage Management along with state politicians, the general community is also invited. A large chunk of this day is mtb related so get along.

The GTA has been asked to run tours of the work we have been doing, so if your interested in being a tour guide, let us know.

Mick and I spoke today about separating each trail worked on into its own thread. So, here is the thread on the reworking of the shaft trail. I'll start by reposting micks post from yesterday when works started.

On the Shaft trail and we started from the start - the chute which was a real problem, it had become so bad it was eroding the road. It has now been completely bypassed and a new winding flow trail is going in.

Things were a little slow to start with having to consult with the NPWS but everything was approved to a very favorable level.

The NPWS and Ranger Tiffany would like to have one more trailwork day on this trail, just a general clean-up some weed picking and tree planting.

They would like this 'Gateway Trail' to be something special worthy of showing off to visitors.

Tiffany would also like to put on a BBQ for the volunteers and just have a cruisy day with maybe some time to have a ride.

So Saturday 7th of May at the Gun Club Rd. gate, 9.30 am. All welcome, just drop in on your way past or stay and help doesn't matter.

Hope to see a few of you there to finish off the best works in glenrock to date.

Glenrock Trail Names

As the trails are progressing along nicely, there has also been work going on behind the scenes to create a Glenrock specific signage, trail names and maps.

We are constrained by NPWS policy as far as the form of actually trail markers (such as totum poles), but a trail head map and associated info is being compiled to go onto large trail head signs.

What we need to do as a user group is come up with names for the trails. We may choose to keep some names and we may choose to change them.
