This thread will attempt keep up to date on trail advocacy campaigns currently requiring action.

It's worth noting that behind there scenes there is pretty constant stream of lobbing by riders and their supporters. Many people do a lot of work on this, which inevitably leads to some government or local authority department putting out some plan or strategy or policy document for public comment.

This is where you come in: Without public support for such documents, all the work in the background to persuade authorities to get this far will have been for nothing!

We are having a meeting at Dooleys Silverwater at 7pm on Wednesday 19
October to discuss the proposed Lake Parramatta trails closure and Draft Plan
of Management.

Dooleys Silverwater is at the corner of Clyde St and Silverwater Rd near the
Silverwater Bridge.

Slight change from the original suggestion at Lidcombe but the room was
better and it hasn't cost us anything (plus it may also be closer for some
Parramatta local riders, too).

It will be a chance for all those voices and names to finally meet and collect
our thoughts together in a common group against this.

IMBA has got its act together with a new site!

Support needed from riders in the Hornsby area. Some planned trail building in the Hornsby Shire has been put on hold due to the usual ill-informed local lobbying of council, causing them to backflip on plans to build XC trails in the area. Email from HSMBA below, with ways to help out if you're interested.

Hi Fellow Singletrack Activists,

Happy New Year and we trust you had a relaxing festive season since our last update.

OK, this is not specific to Glenrock, but on a State Wide level it is very important to what we are doing. The NSW Governemtn hasreleased a Mountainbike Discussion paper and they are seekeing community comment on the issue.

More info on the paper and how to comment can be found at https://mountainbiking.discussions.nsw.gov.au/

Glenrock Draft POM Update

Finally we have something to report on the status of the draft glenrock Plan of Management.

As of a week or so ago the plan has been with the minister, Frank Sator, for final sign off.

The positives, all the xc single trail will finally be signed off and legalized as will the DJ's. The obvious bad news, the dh trails may be gone sooner than we thought.

After this weekend successful build day we are now at a point where we can look to move to a new section of trail to work on. At bit of a discussion was had at the end of saturdays works to see where we go from here and a couple of trail locations were suggested as being the potential focus for the upcoming build days.

- Suess Land (ruled out as the NPWS will likely want to supervise this given the prevalence of threatened flora adjacent to the trail corridor).
- Lower Kenny (where the trail splits into either the steep chute or the alternate line)

Yesterday saw another successful GTA build day on the BJ's travel. The decent sized build crew was met with stunning weather for

Work on the step up - The B-Line ramp is now complete thanks to the importation of soil to fill in the gaping holes between the rock ramp that had been created at the last build day. A little bit of tidying up was also done to the A-Line leaving this section complete.
