This year for the 8 ¼ hour I signed up with Craig (craked) and Wayne (Dicko) for the Male Threes as “The good, the bad and the ugly"

Phil, Jos and Michael were signed up as the “Iron Horse Pony Club”

We all put in $20 and the fastest lap between the two teams would take the pot. Our first goal was to beat the Ponies and second was to take home the cash. We achieved the first as the Ponies claimed the fastest lap with Michael doing a 37:30 on his second lap. Well done mate.

Wow

Wow, what an amazing track. I nearly didn't go as I was so busy on Saturday with plenty still to do. In the end I drove up to my parents Saturday night, watched Cadel win the yellow jersey and managed a few hours sleep.

Back to today's race. I got there with plenty of time to set up, register and get a practice lap in and check out all the roll overs and jumps. Well done on these as you can hit them at speed or roll over without issues. I was amazed at how well I was hitting these on the HT and timing the landing to perfection (at least before fatigue set in Eye-wink )

Top 10 :-)

First race on the 29er and managed a top 10 finish although it was a small field of riders Smiling

These were full laps including the new bits and the track was in surpisingly good condition and dry.

Round 2. They made us do the red loop today adding 6km from last round and including Camelback Climb.

I started mid pack and didn't smash myself at the start this time. I was happy just sitting back as it felt like we were doing a decent pace without totally smashing myself which I find is a very fine line for me. I averaged 175bpm for the whole race which is 89% of my max HR.

I can't remember being passed this round which was good. It will be interesting where I came and how many riders there were as it looked like a decent turn out (108 riders)

As I joined HMBA as part of the Spring Fat Tyre Fest I thought I would have a go a racing up there this year. I entered C grade and which is 3 laps (8km+6km+6km). I struggled big time which I knew I would as I haven't been doing any intense rides so time to change the training I think.

I entered the Spring Fat Tyre Festival in a team of 3 with Craig (craked) and Tien (tienster). This was my second team event and the first time with 3. The plan was to head up Saturday to register and do final lap before Sunday. I picked up Tien and we arrived at the track at about 3pm to find Craig had already set up a gazebo reserving a spot nice and close to the transition area. We registered (no queuing for us), got our bikes ready and had a nice cruisy lap.
